PlayStation 5 Estimated to Have Outsold Xbox Series X|S by 2:1

Contempo industry data estimates that Sony has told twice every bit many PlayStation 5 consoles every bit Microsoft has sold Xbox Series X|Southward consoles worldwide.

This new data comes from inquiry firm Ampere Analysis. Co-ordinate to a new console insight from the firm, Sony has reportedly sold through roughly 12.viii million PlayStation 5 units (disc and digital models combined) globally equally of September, whereas Microsoft is said to have simply sold through 6.vii million of its Xbox Series family (Xbox Series Ten and Xbox Serial Southward combined). During the third quarter of 2021, the research house estimates that global panel sales beyond Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo reached ix.1 million units, with the Nintendo Switch slightly outselling the PS5 (3.91 million Switch units compared to iii.42 PS5 units).

Interestingly, Harding-Rolls as well claims that data suggest that Microsoft'south Xbox Series S has outsold the Xbox Series X in "several cardinal markets". Bodily sales numbers and more details about these "key" markets weren't provided.

Quite an interesting article from Ampere Analysis, but with Microsoft not sharing console sales numbers, we can't ostend that these numbers are correct.
